This guy is seriously amazing. After the past few weeks, I honestly thought he would leave, but no. He wants to stay and see out his contract even though Valencia didn't make the CL and he deserves CL football. I know I harp on about this all the time. I don't want him to leave. I really don't. However, he is a CL type player and he deserves to be playing in the top tier of European competition. If Valencia aren't too desperate for money and can afford to hang onto him for one more season, they should. But if they don't make the CL next year, then honestly, for the sake of his career, he should go. It'll break my heart to see him play against Valencia, so any other La Liga team would be hard to see him at. Especially when the only two realistic options are Real Madrid and Barcelona. I just have everything crossed that Valencia make it out of this mess with all their key players still at the club. The painful reality is that they will probably lose one or two players at least. I'm sure I'll come to terms with that eventually. Just not yet.

Changes to the blog
I've realised that there's an awful lot of Valencia related stuff on here, and not very much else. Now, that's all fine and dandy during the season when there is plenty to rant about, but I don't want the blog turning into my ranting ground over the summer transfer window, so there's going to be some changes. Firstly, I'm going to have to find something other than football to blog on. Secondly, I'm going to have to find the time to blog more, because I've been neglecting the blog a fair bit of late. And finally, for next season, things are going to get a little more serious around here. There's nothing wrong with fangirling, but I kind of miss doing match reports and whatnot. I'm going to make the time to do those every weekend if I can. In the meantime - what do YOU want to see more of on here?

Exam day isn't always bad...
I don't want to do a blog cut on these. He's too pretty to hide.
Please test me on him for my next exam? I'll ace it, I promise.

True supporters
I read this article on goal.com this morning which pretty much made me want to hit the nearest thing to me. For several reasons. The main one being that THIS is exactly the type of football fan I hate. I don't even see how they have the nerve to call themselves fans. We're all disappointed with the way things have gone this season, but lashing out at the manager is NOT the way to make things better.
"next year you will be in the UEFA Cup, you will play in the UEFA Cup. That is what you have to do, play in the UEFA Cup, you are a UEFA Cup team"
UEFA Cup or Champions League, they are still making some sort of European cup competition. Which, for a team that has had the troubles Valencia have had, is a pretty big achievement. Obviously, I would rather they made the CL. They are a team that deserves to play CL football, and it's not that long ago they were last IN the competition. But still, I'm not likely to complain about the UEFA Cup. It's better than nothing.
I appreciate that fans are growing frustrated with the way the season has turned out, and I'll be the first to admit that when Valencia were top of the table for six of the first eight weeks of La Liga this year, I did not think that come the end of the season, they'd be fighting to hold onto fourth spot. It's not like I thought that they were going to win La Liga either, but things were definitely looking a lot brighter when the season started. Then a rough patch, players not being paid and 2 months of pretty bad results pushed them as low as 8th in the table, but they fought back and they made that fourth spot theirs. For it to be ripped away by a fucking DIVE is not cool. Yes, they didn't play as well as they should have against Atletico. In fact, they played a little bit shit. It was probably the right result and I'm not going to complain about that. But NOBODY can sit there and tell me that the way that result happened was right or fair, because I just won't listen. And I like Atletico, but if they make the CL at the expense of Valencia, on the basis on THAT result, then no, I will not be happy for them, and yes I will be a bitter bitch about it and I have every right to do that, because it's one thing earning your place in the competition. It's totally different when you have it handed to you on a silver platter.
Fans who don't bother supporting the team through thick and thin don't deserve their name as fans. I know that people are frustrated because Valencia deserve better than what they're getting and when it really matters, they're not fighting, but I can't justify the way these fans acted. I don't even want to justify it, it's plain wrong. It's not like them saying all of this is going to change the result. And shouting things like 'you're just a UEFA Cup team' is hardly going to boost the players' confidence at the stage of the season they need it the most. I bet these are the fans that stopped going to games when the team was doing badly. It's the times that the team needs fans' full support that you really get an idea of who is there for the glory and who is there from the heart. I don't claim to be the best fan in the world, but one thing I would never do is turn my back on my team when they need me to support them and show them that people still believe in them when they need it the most.

Bitter bitch alert...
I promised myself I wasn't going to blog on any more games if I had nothing nice to say, but quite frankly, this is annoying me way too much to keep it inside. Last night was the Atletico Madrid-Valencia game, which many would argue was a make or break game and a CL decider. I had high hopes for it. After all, Valencia did rather well against the other Madrid team.
Anyway, the game started off badly for Valencia. They had no Silva, no Vicente and no Marchena available to them through a combination of injuries and suspensions. You know it's a tough life when you rely on players like Edu, who has barely played all season, to fill the gap. I'm pretty much going to ignore the majority of the game because...well, it was all Atleti. Aside from the goal Mata scored that was wrongfully disallowed for offside. If the ball comes off the opposition defence, it's not offside. Honestly, am I the ONLY person that knows the rules?Idiot referees.
And the goal Atleti scored that took them above Valencia and into the CL spots, and got them an advantage - yeah, total dive. I mean, fair enough, there was contact. But it's the kind of PK I hate seeing given. Kun saw the goalie coming. He left his leg in for Cesar to make contact with. He was going down before the tackle even came. Yet the PK was given, and Forlan stepped up to score from the spot. Other than that one blunder - which was actually a total refereeing fail - Cesar was IMMENSE. He made so many saves to keep the score at 1-0. It's thanks to him that Valencia still hold a slight advantage should the teams finish level on points at the end of the season. But I'm not making excuses for Valencia. Yes, the match officials screwed them over, but that's a regular occurrence for them. They have the class in the team to be able to overcome that, yet they didn't. Atleti proved they wanted it, and after such a brilliant week last week, Valencia just failed to turn up this week. It's the story of their season. I've never known a more bi-polar team. They're up one week and then the next, they're just total fail. I say that with love. All Valencia fans can do now is pray that Atleti slip up in one of the remaining two La Liga games. But for that to make a difference, Valencia simply must win both of theirs. CL football next season is a necessity, not a choice.

He's training!!
Ok, so he's not with the group, he's training on his own. And I'm still not getting my hopes up about him being fit for Atleti. But he's still training. I almost cried with relief when I saw this pic today.

I love him so
Some day soon...
I will remember that I have a blog. And when I do, I will blog lots. But for now, I am sick of saying the same old stuff about Valencia, transfer rumours piss me off, nothing that fun is hapening in my life and Liverpool...well they just make my heart hurt. I really want this to be their year, and the optimist in me believes they can do it, but the realist in me knows that this is just going to be another year of 'so near, yet so far'. I really need to get a life that doesn't revolve around football.

They're gonna kill me...
I needed an escape from the two crazy CL games that happened this week. It's all over the media and I cannot hack it anymore, I don't want to hear another word about unjustified red cards and wrong penalty decisions and psycho players. So, I did what I always do when I need an escape from the crazy side of football. I tuned my inner fangirl and I went to hunt down Valencia pics. And on this fine day, I found THIS.
I think I may have forgotten how to breathe. And possibly squealed a little too loudly. Goddamn you superdeporte. You kill me.

Um, hi there.
I would say this is especially for LS, but it's sort of not really. It's mostly for me. What a cutie. Guuuh. (Sorry again Mel. I'll stop eventually...)
Totally random warning.
Ok, I was clearing out my room the other day, and I came across something I'd forgotten I had. Years ago, I went to see a local band play live at some pub or another in Brixton with a friend and at the end of the show, we went to talk to the guys. Now, we had high hopes for these guys hitting the big time, they were awesome. Sadly, they never quite made it there, the band split shortly after that and went their seperate ways. Anyway, my friend managed to persuade the drummer to give up one of his drumsticks, and she got that autographed. I wanted their autographs too, but I had nothing with me that could possibly be signed, and I didn't fancy getting myself or my clothes branded, so instead, I got THIS signed...
Yes, that is a cigarette. And yes they did agree to sign it. Don't ask what was going through my mind that night. Anyway, what's the weirdest thing YOU'VE ever had autographed?

Baller tattoos
Ok, so by now, people may possibly have realised I have a slight fascination/obsession with tattoos. I'm pretty much capable of staring at them for hours on end. There are some that I think are absolutely beautiful and suit the person, others that I think are beautiful and don't suit the person and then there's those that I totally HATE. I decided I'd do a blog post on them, because it's important you know the difference :P
Sergio Ramos' tattoos come very much under the 'love' category. I think they're awesome.
Erm, no, I do not at all have an urge to lick that tattoo. *polishes halo furiously* But if I'm totally honest, I don't actually like it that much. It's just...meh.
I love every single tattoo Alexis has. Except that thing on his back, but I'm choosing to ignore that. It doesn't exist.
Especially this one. It seriously does things to me. I think it is probably right up there as one of the best sleeve tattoos I have EVER seen.
Albelda's is just cute. And the fact that it's Dahveed's initials (actually Albelda's and his wife's) is just too much for me to handle.
Joaquin has his daughter's name on his arm. I think the idea of this tattoo is absolutely lovely, but tbh, I'm not so keen on the actual thing. Still, tattoos are supposed to mean something to the person with it, and it clearly does, so moving on...
Vicente has his name tattooed onto him. He also has the Valencia bat in between his shoulder blades. I want that exact same tattoo in that exact same place. I don't think I even need to tell you how I feel about his tattoos. I love him. I love them. Simple as that.
Nando's tattoos are pretty darn cool as well. I love that he's such a geek, he got his name in Elvish tattooed onto him. Mind you, Elvish tattoos were a big hit with footballers at one point. Cesc. Oh Cesc. That thing on your elbow is awful. It's just...so random. It's not a particularly attractive tattoo and the placement is just totally off. It needs to be turned into a full sleeve. Or at the very least, a half sleeve. Shame he doesn't look the type...
I really don't like Matthew Taylor's tattoo either. I think he's far too pretty for it, and I don't think it suits him. The tattoo itself isn't that bad, just not on him.
Dagger has cool tattoos. I would post pics of them all if I could be bothered, but you're just stuck with this one because I don't think it's as well known as all his other ones, it's always covered up.
And then there's David Beckham. Man of 203857853 tattoos. I honestly think he should have stopped about 203857847 tattoos ago, because they're all too busy and in time they're going to just look shitty. Sorry Becks, but those sleeves are awful.
What are your fave baller tattoos? Feel free to post in the comments.
Here we go again...
Are these people seriously mentally retarded? Why are they still insisting THIS is even a possiblity? Just stop already. He doesn't want to leave Spain. Manchester is not in Spain. I'm sick of reading about it already.
