Lolz

Just as a reward if you actually made it through the epic end of year post, have a pic of Dahveed. Ok, well the pic is more for me as a reward for writing that end of year post, but you can all lol at it.

End of year review - 2008

Well, I wasn't going to do one of these things at first. Probably because my memory is going, and I can barely remember what I did a week ago, never mind a whole year ago! But then I saw that everyone else was doing one, and I figured I may as well TRY and remember some of the good (and the not so good) things that happened in my world this year.

January - Well, if I could remember anything from this time of year, I would write about it. Sadly, my memory doesn't really stretch that far back. All I seem to have stored in the memory banks is spending the New Year at home with my parents and wishing I could be somewhere far far away. Preferably somewhere warm.

February - Roundabout this time, I was starting to get annoyed with uni and I just wanted the academic year to be over. I knew we only had about 2 months to go until we didn't have to go in any more and time seemed to drag on forever. Liverpool were doing rather well in the CL, beating Inter Milan 2-0 at home and pretty much securing a place in the quarter finals of the competition, where they would meet Arsenal. Valencia were in the middle of the worst season I remember them having since I started watching them play. Koeman was the shambles, they were regularly losing by a margin of 3/4 goals and things were looking pretty damn bad for them.

March - There was little change in terms of the football here, Liverpool were still doing well, Valencia still were not. As for me, well, with the Easter holidays and my birthday looming, I was just trying my best to block out all the shit that was happening with housemates and whatnot and just have a good time.

April - Surprisingly enough, I remember very little about April too. Sure, I turned 20 and that was like a milestone of sorts, but I don't think I did anything. I don't remember going out with friends, so I more than likely didn't. Actually, I think I was in Brighton at the time, so the chances of me having gone out are little to none. April also saw the trio of Liverpool-Arsenal games played around the time of my birthday. I had somehow convinced myself that it was going to end badly, even though I had faith in my boys. Of course, they won in the end, but not before giving me several heart attacks along the way, and they booked their place in the CL semi finals where they would once again meet Chelsea. Unfortunately, they didn't quite make it to the final this time out. Riise's own goal in the dying seconds on the first leg proved to be the difference, and after so much success in Europe in recent years, Liverpool would not be on their way to Moscow. Instead, it was to be a Chelsea-Man U final. Valencia had started pulling results out of the bag and were slowly on their way up the table. They weren't going to become champions, but they weren't going to get relegated either.

May - Finally, I was free from uni lectures. I only had my exams left to go, and once they were out of the way, I could start enjoying my summer. Of course, with the Euros coming up, that was pretty important. I didn't care that England hadn't qualified, it meant that for once in my life I could watch a competition without the blatant bias in favour of England. Anyway, by the end of this month, my exams were done, I was feeling pretty confident and all seemed well. I discovered a wonderful place on the internetz called Kickette, and even though I didn't pluck up the courage to join in properly until the following month, they provided me with laughs on the main page and some in the SBA too. Sadly, the CL final was the most boring thing I had ever had to sit through. I do hate when football is ruined by boring teams playing safe football. I wished and wished neither one would win, but my wishes were ignored.

June - After the tragedy of the football month that was May, I was looking forward to seeing the Spain boys tearing all the other teams a new one. I was so confident they'd do it, I even put money on it happening. Of course, the Euros brought many laughs and I had a whole new group of friends to enjoy it with. The SBA thread on Kickette became my second home, and I found some of the best friends I've ever had over the summer. We had parties, celebrations and lots of good times as Spain stormed their way through the competition and walked away with the trophy. Dahveed celebrated by proving to the world he had never been drunk.

July - More parties ensued on the SBA, including virtual weddings and all sorts. It was also roughly at this time I started staying up all night and changed my sleeping pattern completely. This was how my life would be all summer, and it was so much fun. I stopped going back to London most weekends, because I didn't want to leave Kickette and all the girls on there. The SBA summer really began here. The Orange Hoodies were born and we haven't looked back since. We'd have so many crazy chats online, discussing the blowability factors of football teams, we had an uggo tournament and of course, who could forget TIT and cowboy? Classic times. Much sleepless craziness followed on, and the days seemed to get shorter and shorter. Also, I had a personal change in my life - I quit smoking. Haven't looked back since, and I feel so much better now.

August - This was the time I left Brighton to move back home to London. It was a sad time, as my internet time was greatly reduced, and it seemed like the real world was soon going to take over again. I still had a whole two months until the start of my final year at uni, and I didn't want to go back. On the bright side, the football season was back and I was glad of this. After the excitement of the Euros, I just wanted the season to kick off right away, I missed seeing my boys. I felt so deprived. Thankfully, this season brought many more live games of my teams. After the shambles of last year, Valencia brought in a new manager - Unai Emery - who instantly transformed the team. They were winning games, and winning well, top of the table and full of confidence. Liverpool also got off to a good start.

September - I rediscovered my love of Vicente. He was back and playing for Valencia and I hadn't realised quite how much I missed seeing him play. Other than that, September was a very slow month, nothing particularly exciting happened to me. Liverpool were still unbeaten in the Prem and they were looking good. Better than ever in fact. Even without their star striker, they had already beaten Man U.

October - I started my blog. From here on, it's basically pretty easy to keep up with the major happenings in my life and the footballing world, so I won't write too much. I started uni again, and happened to realise what a bitch travelling is. Public transport is a total nightmare. It never does what you want it to. Also - first snowfall of the year! I thought maybe we'd end up with a white xmas.

November - Well, there's really not much to say about November, Liverpool topped the table and stayed joint first with Chelsea for a long time, until results finally went our way and then we were clear. Oh, the view is good from the top. I started working weekends, which meant that I could no longer watch Liverpool games, but Valencia were nice enough to play late evenings so I could get home on time to watch.

December - The highlight of December was the xmas party online. Also, we didn't get our white xmas, but I can't say I'm disappointed. It's not like I ever really believed it would snow on xmas day, that's not how England works. Work was crazy busy in the few weekends leading up to xmas, but then the weekend after, it was dead. Not that I'm complaining, getting paid for not having to work much sounds like my kind of deal.

Overall, 2008 was probably one of my favourite years in existance. Liverpool are still in the title race (and leading it!) at the start of the new year, Valencia are doing much better than they were lat year and I have found the best friends I could ever have wished for this year. I could have written so much more about the year, but I really don't remember too much of what happened before the Euros. Plus, I'm sure that this post would turn into a mammoth thing if I actually put every little thing in there. If I missed anything important, I'm sorry. It's been such a great year, I can't possibly remember all the good things. Still, here's hoping that 2009 is just as great!

I'm not going to bother posting resolutions or things I want to achieve, I know I'll never stick to them and I don't want to be here this time next year thinking how I failed certain things, so I'll just say that my #1 priority is finishing my degree. Anything else good that happens in 2009 will be a very pleasant and very welcome bonus.

Oh Stevie

It may not be the most appropriate pic considering the recent events, but it makes me laugh, and it's not even real. Like our Stevie would do anything of the sort. Having said that, I do feel partly responsible for this. I mean, just a few days ago, I post a pic of our Captain Fantastic looking like a mob boss of sorts, and then this happens. Still, I'm not going to comment on the incident itself. I am still refusing to believe he would do such a thing without some form of provocation at the very least. Right now, I am so pissed off with this whole situation, I'm just going to bite my tongue or I will say something I may regret later on. It just seems out of character for him, so there's something not quite right about this. Wonder if Liverpool being top of the table has anything to do with it...

I don't care about all the haters, he's still my captain and I still love him. One mistake doesn't make him a bad person, and had it been any regular guy, I doubt we'd even give a shit. I'm not in any way condoning what he did, there's never any excuse for using your fists, but I think the media are making a little too much of this. He got drunk, he allegedly assaulted someone. It happens. Deal with it. (I still think it was Lampard in disguise :P)

Slightly late...but this vid is <3

That video is made of so many levels of cute, I don't even know where to begin. This is basically what was running through my head while watching (and this was the 500000th time I saw it,, the first 499999 times, I was just thinking how hot most of them are). Silva is just too adorable. I want to squish him. Joaquin - honest to god, is there a happier person on this earth, he is ALWAYS smiling! Albelda...he got a rough deal really, I was too busy grinning like a cheshire cat after seeing Joaquin all smiley and then falling about laughing when Dahveed came on. He is such a Scrooge. I mean, you're wishing people a merry xmas and you're pulling a bitchface? Really?? Also, why hide behind the tree...people aren't going to eat you alive. Seriously, it won't kill you to smile. Renan and Guaita. Oh, my goalies. Renan couldn't even get a word in. But he got upgraded from just 'in motion' on the pitch, he was looking kind of hot here. Erm...Vicente. *drools and nearly slips on earlier puddle of drool* I think that covers that. Mata with the big blue eyes. I swear the boy gets cuter every week. Miguel is such a wannabe gangsta rapper. Good try, but leave it to Babelf. Albiol and the tongue porn. I was so fixated, I didn't even NOTICE Marchena at first...even though he was speaking. Edu. Meh, he looked better than usual. Fernandes had awful facial hair. Like, truly awful. Pablo seems like a sweetie. Viana is hot. I may have drooled slightly. The random dude whose name I do not know made me lol so hard. I don't have a clue what he was saying, but I laughed all the same. The youngsters did a good job of showing team spirit. *sigh* I miss the old unibetless shirts. Michel also seems like a sweetie. The four random dudes were...random. And the old guy at the end was just pure lolz too. Please let me spend next xmas in Valencia Santa, please. I promise I will put a smile on Dahveed's face.

Weekend round up - sort of.

Now, as you all know, La Liga is taking a winter break, which means no games to report on for a couple of weekends. There is still no such break in the Prem though, and I am thankful for the xmas period when games are sometimes played midweek, or at a time I can watch them. Seeing as I really have no excuse for not watching the game today (I'm home, I have nothing else to do, I miss Liverpool) I thought I may as well do a proper match report on the game instead of just linking you up to the match report on the official site. First off, I hope everyone had a lovely xmas and Santa brought them lots of nice presents. Think of this as my present to you - an actual match report complete with mean comments about the Bolton bullies etc etc.

So, with Man U and Chelsea having won already earlier on, Liverpool were under pressure to perform at home and get all three points. Nothing less would be good enough to keep them top. It shouldn't be a hard task for them, they're unbeaten at home all year in the Prem. They started very brightly, defending well and making forward runs, trying to break the deadlock. With the news that Alvaro Arbeloa was injured, Sami came into the team to replace him. The strikeforce was still missing Fernando Torres, and he was at the stadium (so was Skittles!) but neither one was deemed ready for this fixture.

Dagger was looking hot as ever, and Riera put in some great crosses, none of which came to anything in the end. Just past the ten minute mark, he missed a glorious chance to put Liverpool a goal up, his shot going horribly wide. He made amends 15 minutes later, getting on the end of a Gerrard corner to put the ball beyond the outstretched arms of Jussi Jaaskelainen. There were other missed chances, and Liverpool should have been at least 2 or 3 up at half time, but they will have been happy with 1-0 as longas it brought 3 points at the end.

Ever so slightly off topic - that Steinsson bloke has nice tattoos, no? Actually, so does Matt Taylor. Not as nice as Dagger's clearly, but they're pretty good all the same. Anyway, back to the important stuff. Robbie Keane is really starting to find his goalscoring boots. 2 goals in two games, I'm impressed. I'm still not entirely convinced by him, but keep it up Robbie! Ok, better make that 3 goals in 2 games, he scored his second of the game a mere five minutes later. That was game over for Bolton, it was just a question now of what the final score would be.

The first substitution of the day was El Zhar on for Riera, who scored a very important goal to get the ball rolling for Liverpool, but with the game already won, it was perhaps time to take off some of the big guns and keep them fresh for the next fixture on Sunday. Stevie soon made way for Lucas, handing over the armband to Jamie Carragher. The final change of the game for Rafa (who was also in the crowd) was Ngog on for Dirk Kuyt.

I'm not going to lie. I am happy about the score, 3-0 after a series of draws is great. The annoying thing is that they should have had more. They could easily have scored 5 or 6, and Keane really deserved to get his first hat trick for the team. Still, 3 goals, 3 points, top of the table. Not much more I could ask for really.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! This is what Santa brought me this year:
Well, I'm sure he would have done if he'd read my letter. I'd have no objections to that sliding down my chimney. Also, you know, either one or both of these would be very welcome sights in the morning:

The alcohol is optional. Though it would probably come in handy. For me, clearly.

:(

I'm ill. Of all the bleeding times in the world, it had to be over xmas. I've been up all night, been sick twice and I feel generally crappy. I thought christmas was supposed to be fun? Anyway, I have to spend an evening with my parents (as if I wasn't ill enough already) and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I can barely heave myself off the sofa, never mind sit at the dinner table looking like a civilised person. Santa had better bring me an extra good present this year!

CL and UEFA Cup draws

Champions League draw in full:
Chelsea v Juventus
Villarreal v Panathinaikos
Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid v FC Porto
Lyon v Barcelona
Real Madrid v Liverpool
Arsenal v Roma
Inter Milan v Manchester United

I would just like to point out that I totally predicted that would happen. Not the whole thing obviously. In fact, I think I got all the rest wrong. But I just KNEW Liverpool would get Real Madrid. Ties to be played 24/25 February and 10/11 March.

UEFA Cup draw in full:
Paris St Germain v Wolfsburg
FC Copenhagen v Manchester City
NEC Nijmegen v Hamburg
Sampdoria v Metalist Kharkiv
Braga v Standard Liege
Aston Villa v CSKA Moscow
Lech Poznan v Udinese
Olympiakos v St Etienne
Fiorentina v Ajax
Aalborg v Deportivo La Coruna
Werder Bremen v AC Milan
Bordeaux v FC Galatasaray
Dynamo Kiev v Valencia
Zenit St Petersburg v VfB Stuttgart
Marseille v FC Twente
Shakhtar Donetsk v Tottenham

I guess it could have been worse for Valencia. I wanted Aalborg, but whatevs. It'll have to do. The first legs take place on the 18/19 February with the return match on 26 February.

Last 16 UEFA Cup draw:
Werder Bremen/AC Milan v Olympiakos/St Etienne
Aston Villa/CSKA Moscow v Shakhtar Donetsk/Tottenham
Lech Poznan/Udinese v Zenit St Petersburg/VfB Stuttgart
Paris St Germain/Wolfsburg v Braga/Standard Liege
Dynamo Kiev/Valencia v Sampdoria/Metalist Kharkiv
FC Copenhagen/Manchester City v Aalborg/Deportivo La Coruna
Marseille v FC Twente v Fiorentina/Ajax
NEC Nijmegen/Hamburg v Bordeaux v FC Galatasaray

Yeah, it could definitely have been worse for them. Ties to be played on 12 March and 18/19 March

Excuse me while my ovaries explode of cute

I love these boys. So, SO much. I mean, not only are they doing this, they actually look like they want to be there. My heart melted, seriously. I know that xmas in hospital must suck, and I really hope all the kiddies get better soon and get to go home.

I did want the full size versions to put up here, but the site is being mean and not letting me access them. Actually, it's probably saving my life, I would actually explode of cute if I saw these any bigger.

Meet the boys - Part 4

Final part. I hope this has been useful in some way, it's not particularly much info at all, but now at least you'll know who the heck you're reading about in the match reports. Speaking of which, I didn't do one over the weekend because one game was shit and I didn't watch the other. Go here for the moment of the match in the Valencia game and I'll link you up to the Liverpool report on the official site.

It's the end of the world

It's official. The world as we know it is coming to an end. So I was watching the Valencia game earlier this evening, and I was all happy because Vicente played the full 90 and it was raining hard and he looks SO good in the away kit. Anyway, after the final whistle, I went to look for pics, and I came across this:

Yes, that is Vicente. And yes, it is a bloody nice ass. But the thing that worries me - those are base layers. Now, I'm all for him and Dahveed being BFF's and stuff. I draw the line at swapping fashion tips, when this is clearly just not good. Those thighs NEED to be free, not restrained by stupid spandex. Even if it is nice and orange. Anyway, I am currently deeply traumatised by this news. I need to go and sit down. And maybe have a few stiff drinks.

Clicky click...

Midweek round up

With a win, Valencia would guarantee themselves top spot in their group. They did not need to worry about booking a qualification spot, having done that in the last game, but finishing top would be important in order to avoid the big names in the next round. Unai Emery once again put his faith in the young guns, but there were some regulars in the team as well. Joaquin and Vicente were working their magic on the wings and for the first 20 minutes or so, all was going well, until St Etienne took the lead. Just a few minutes later, Valencia were back on level terms, Mori getting the goal. It wasn't to last long though. A rookie mistake from the goalie just before the half time whistle meant they went in 2-1 down at half time and needing 2 goals (without conceding any more) to top the group.

The second half was very much dominated by the away team (who were looking mighty fine without that unibet shit all over the shirt!) and Zigic equalised. In typical fashion, I missed the goal. But at any rate, 2-2 was not enough to get them to top spot, and they will now face one of the teams that have dropped out of the Champions League.

Meet the boys - Part 3

And the midfield. I am trying to be a little objective here and not spend this entire post going 'OMG OMG OMG he's totally so cute and I love him lots and lots and jelly tots' but I can't promise anything. They have quite a hot midfield in general. I mean, Viana, Silva, Vicente...

Meet the boys - Part 1

Ok, a while ago, I promised myself that I would do a post on the Valencia squad as a sort of introduction to them for those who don't know much about the boys. It's not really like I know all that much if I'm honest, but I can give you the basics on each player. I'm going to do this in parts, because the squad is rather big and it'll take me forever to get through the whole lot. Also, no I am not going into detail about whether they are married or not (partly because I'd rather not think about it and partly because I only know about a few of them). Actually, I'm not going to go into detail at all about anything. I don't want to seem stalkerish. I only know a lot about the 'big name stars' like Dahveed, Silva and Vicente, and that info was hard enough to find! Now, enough talking...meet the boys:

Goalkeepers
#13: Renan Brito Soares

Age: 23
DOB: 24/01/1985
Nationality: Brazilian
Height: 1.86m
Weight: 86kgs

#33: Vicente Guaita Panadero

Age: 21
DOB: 18/02/1987
Nationality: Spanish
Height: 1.90m
Weight: 80kgs

So, that's the goalkeepers out of the way. Tomorrow, the defenders take the spotlight. I would have done some today, but I want to keep them all together because it's less confusing that way.

My champions

Now, I don't want to jinx anything, so I'm not going to say Liverpool WILL win the Prem this season. Sure, they're doing well, but anything goes in football. Instead, I thought I'd compile a list of reasons they deserve to win it/should win it. I'm sure there's more reasons, but I thought I'd stick to the credible ones.

  1. Man U are catching up and catching up fast in the race for the number of titles won. Like hell Liverpool are going to give up their place at the top to their most bitter rivals.
  2. They have made a great start to the season so far and have beaten 2 of the 3 main title contenders already. They have 6 points out of 6 against the other big 4 teams.
  3. The players deserve something for all the hard work they've put in over the years.
  4. Rafa B is a genius. He's won so many things with the club already. The title is the one thing everybody desperately wants to add to their collection.
  5. It's more than likely Sami's last year at the club. It'll be fantastic to reward all the years he's been with us with the title on what is potentially his last season.
  6. The fans have had a long wait and they're getting impatient. This is a club that should be winning title after title, and this is close to the best squad they've had in recent times. They should challenge now.
  7. All the homegrown players (well, Stevie and Carra) are desperate to see their club finally win the elusive #19.
  8. They're playing with a lot more hunger this year. They've won games that they would not have won last season and they have the belief that this is their year.
  9. It's an even number year. 2008. All good things happen on even numbers. NB - this is not scientifically proven fact, it's just a personal superstition. (BTW, Stevie = #8 shirt. Year ends with an 8. It's fate. Ok so the season technically ends in 2009, but it started in 2008)
  10. I said so. Of course, things always happen when I say so. If you don't believe me, ask Dani Alves. Everytime I mention him being kicked, he gets kicked.

Midweek round up

I know I promised a better match report this time, but I wasn't really paying all that much attention. All I know are the basics. Slightly weakened side, went a goal down, equalised right on the stroke of half time, a wonder shot from Riera put them a goal up and then Ngog scored his first goal for the club. All this happened with just 77 minutes gone. They topped the group, thus avoiding the likes of Barcelona in the next round. Seeing as the Liverpool site is so lovely, read about the game here .

Horrible coldness

The weather is so miserable here, and this song is kind of poppy and helps cheer me up a little. Technically, right now, there are no leaves and the sky is blue but still...it's COLD!!

New Chelsea in town...

Ugh. Can. They. Stop?! All these transfer rumours are starting to do my head in now. I am more that likely going to be a nervous wreck over the next two months or so. Every day, I log on and see my inbox full of google alerts. They all tell me Dahveed is going to Man City this January. Let me tell you now - do not want! I don't care how much money they are offering. I do not care how desperate Valencia are for money (btw, that shouldn't even matter, the debt has to be paid off before the transfer window even opens). I do not care how many other superstars are moving there in January. He must not leave Valencia.

It's clubs like Man City that are ruining football for the rest of us. Is there really any point in buying every single good player in the world? You're only allowed to field 11 players. That's 11 world class superstars being kept happy, and the other god knows how many sat on the bench. You think they'll stick around for long? I never used to have an issue with City, but now that they think having money means they have a god given right to buy every single player that's any good, I actually find myself wanting them to fail really badly. They're using their money to bully people and exploit situations and it disgusts me.

Lets look into all the reasons the transfers they are talking about are highly unlikely:

  1. 1. No self respecting footballer would drop his team in order to go and sit on the bench.
  2. 2. Money does not buy you everything you want - some people have this thing called loyalty.
  3. 3. Why anybody would want to leave Italy/Spain for miserable old England is beyond me.
  4. 4. Dahveed has just signed an extension to his contract until 2014. His buyout clause is something like £130mil. Now, I love him, but he's not worth that kind of money. Buying him would be stupid.
  5. 5. Can you imagine players like Messi, Kaka, Buffon, Iker and Dahveed at Man City. I mean, realistically? They're going to give up CL football for a place in the UEFA Cup? Yeah...
  6. 6. I don't want it to happen.

It disgusts me that clubs can get away with this kind of behaviour. It's about time there were some limits imposed on how much they can spend, because sooner or later, there won't be any competition worth speaking of, and the game I love so much will become a sham. It's likely there will be a lot of rants on this particular subject over the next month and a half because it's something I feel strongly about.

Weekend round up

You'll have to excuse the crappiness this week, I am too tired to actually write proper reports.
Find the match report on the Liverpool game here . I know it's lazy, but I wasn't here to watch the game because of stupid work, and it fails that I can't do proper match reports all the time now. They are still top of the table though. Hell yeah!

The Valencia game, I really don't want to comment on the first half. Or the second for that matter. Two words. Motherfucking. Tit. Also, how much do Barcugh dive? And that referee, total Barca fangirl. For real. And then the second half, as if to rub salt into the wound, Dani Alves scored. I mean really? You're going to do this to me Valencia. Dani Alves? And then Henry got his hat trick. So yeah, good day for Liverpool, bad day for Valencia. And bad day for my La Liga FFT. I wonder how badly I failed...

I'll do better next week, I promise. I'm just so tired today, and the one game I did watch went totally wrong for me, so basically, I have no desire to write about it. Sorry.

Conflicting interests

The Thigh. The base layers. The Thigh. The base layers. The Thigh. The base layers. Am I happy because the thighs are on show, or am I sad because the arms are not? You see my dilemma? Then again, it's not like the base layers are covering The Thigh. And you know...he does look good regardless. Oh, I am over it. Base layers? What base layers?

Midweek round up

With one eye on the La Liga fixture against Barcelona this Saturday, Unai Emery selected a weakened side to play against Brugge. David Villa (who turned 27 yesterday, in case you didn't know) was left out completely, probably because he was so busy being not drunk last night, he couldn't make it in today. I kid, I kid, he's just too important to them to risk being injured before such a big game in the domestic league.

Basically, the first half was pap, it finished 1-0 to Brugge and Valencia weren't really playing like they wanted it. The second half saw Vicente brought on by Emery and suddenly, they were attacking, making forward runs and generally doing rather well. They got a goal to even the scores up at 1-1 and they carried on being the more attacking force. The left wing was the biggest attacking threat for Valencia. He's kind of good, that Vicente...
Also, just because I felt like it, I got this screen cap:
Oh. Sweet. Jesus. Brb, having heart attack. Or something which makes me feel short of breath and dizzy. (Oh, and the final score was 1-1)

Somebody call You've Been Framed!

Serious, get me a permanent slot on that show. I could single handedly keep it alive. It was all wet and icky today (let's face it, this is England) and I have to cross this underpass thingy to get to my platform at the station. You know what's coming, right? Yeah, here's me minding my own business and walking down this thing when all of a sudden I slipped and went sliding all the way down to the bottom on my arse. Embarassing much? Well, you'll be glad to know that other than a brusied ego, I'm fine.

Poor guy

Having to train on your birthday must suck. They could at least have gotten him a cake. Barcugh got one for Bojan. Then again, I guess he looks happy enough. Not every day you see him smile you know. And I mean properly smile.

Must be nice to spend your birthday with all your friends around you. Even if you ARE at work. Then again, having seen Valencia 'training sessions' before, I'm pretty sure he won't be working too hard...

Just because

There's 27 pics here - one for every year of his life. And no, I'm not going to let this go. I am going to make today all about his birthday, just because I can :P
Click on the pics to make them bigger.

*edit* Ok, I cleared out my photobucket. The pics all went away and I'm too lazy to reupload. But there WAS 27 of them :(

Erm...I tried?

Ok, so my video making skillz are bound to be a total phail seeing as I've never done it before. But it's something right? And I couldn't let his birthday pass by without making SOMETHING. Picspams don't count really. So, without further ado, I present my masterpiece...or not. You know, whatever. BTW, that is supposed to be a penguin cake.

Happy 27th Dahveed!

I figured a drunk pic was appropriate. Let's face it, he won't be able to get sloshed in the real world, Valencia play the next day, but there's no harm in pretending, right...
